Biking at Duke Farms

Biking is one of the best ways to experience the diverse habitats at Duke Farms while minimizing your carbon footprint. 

 

Bring your own or rent one during the season (April 1 – October 31st) and explore 12 miles of paved and gravel paths in a fun, sustainable, and eco-friendly way.

 

Keep in mind wildlife always has the right of way!

Navigating the Living Lab

Duke Farms features over 18 miles of scenic trails through meadows, woodlands, wetlands, lakes, and historic landscapes. Whether you're here for a reflective walk, a bike ride, or to observe native wildlife and plants, these tools will help you navigate and explore with purpose:

About the Duke Farms Bike Rental Program

Available from April 1st - October 31st 

Bike Rental Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday: 9 AM - 4 PM  

Rental Duration: 2 hours
Return Time: All bikes must be returned by 5:00 PM
Late Fee: $25 for bikes returned after 2-hour rental period 

Bike Rental Rates: 

Children (12 & under): $15 

Adults: $25
(Helmet rental included with bike rental) 

Helmets are required for all riders. 

Helmet Rental Only: $8 

Rider Policy:
Riders 17 & under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Helmets are required by all riders.

For visitors requiring accessible bike options, we offer a limited number of sun bikes and 2 adult tricycles. Reservations for these accessible bikes must be made in advance of your visit. Please call the front desk to reserve disability accommodating, accessibility bicycles.
