The two young eagles are now approximately three months old. Both are females, banded six weeks ago. The younger one (Band No. E42) left the nest last Tuesday but stayed nearby. It flew for sure on Thursday. The older one (Band E41) apparently left earlier today (Monday), possibly around 5 a.m. A pan of the Eagle Cam at 8:40 a.m. showed no eagles in camera range. Both young birds have now fledged. As one of the cam viewers put it so well, we are now dealing with empty-nest syndrome. The cam will continue to operate in the off-season, and you never know what you might see. Click the Duke Farms logo at right for our home page.
