Homemade biscuits are easier to make than you may think. Try this recipe and you'll never buy biscuit dough from a can again!
2 cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
¼ tsp Baking Soda
7 T Unsalted Butter, Cut Small and Frozen
*¾ cup Buttermilk
1. Preheat oven to 425.
2. Combine all dry ingredients and whisk together. Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter or two knives until the mixture looks like small peas. Make a well and add the buttermilk using a fork to incorporate. Turn the mixture out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll out and fold onto itself no more than 3 times.
3. Roll out to ½” thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter or 3” glass. Place biscuits on an ungreased cookie sheet. Brush biscuit tops with buttermilk.
4. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges brown slightly.
